Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Description]
Biotin-PEG2-amine is a diethylene glycol (PEG2) based bifunctional molecule containing biotin and a primary amino group. The reagent makes it possible to label various biomolecules (such as DNA, oligonucleotides, and proteins) with biotin by reacting the amino group with NHS esters or carboxylic acids in the presence of EDC or HATU. Biotin-labeled compounds can then be linked to avidin or streptavidin for further purification or detection.
A short PEG2-linker separates the biotin residue from the target molecule, ensuring efficient binding to avidin or streptavidin. The linker also increases the compound’s water solubility, thereby facilitating bioconjugation. | [Uses]
Biotin-PEG1-NH2 is a cleavable 1 unit PEG ADC linker used in the synthesis of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs)[1]. | [IC 50]
