Steps:
Oxalyl chloride (1.35 g, 10.6 mmol) was added to a stirred solution of 6-fluoropicolinic acid (1.0 g, 7.09 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (25 mL) at rt under argon atmosphere. A drop of DMF was added to initiate reaction. After stirring for 24 h at rt, the solvents were removed in vacuo to yield the acid chloride as a colorless solid (1.35 g, 97%).
