The damp paste from stage 3b was stirred in 2M sodium carbonate(1 ,00OmI) and heated to reflux for 3 hours. Upon cooling to 250C the product was collected by filtration and the damp paste stirred in acetone (2,000ml). The resulting product was dried to give a solid (132.7g).
