A solution of compound 1-29 (5.6 g, 1 eq.) in THF (70 mL) was treated with a1 N aqueous NaOH solution (80 mL). The resulting mixture was warmed at 600C for o 20 hours, and then diluted with diethyl ether. After the mixture was extracted twice with a saturated aqueous NaHCθ3 solution, 10% HCl was added to neutralize the mixture to PH= 3~5. The aqueous layer was then extracted with diethyl ether. The combined diethyl ether layer was dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated to give compound I -30 (4.66 g, 95%). 1H NMR(CDCl3) δ.7.81-7.78 (m, 2H), 7.16-7.13 5 (d, J = 7.5 Hz, IH), 2.82 (m, 4H), 1.84-1.80 (m, 4H). ESI-M S (M+H+) = 177.
