5.2 General procedure for the synthesis of compounds 4a-4o
General procedure: Catalyst 1 (3mol%), esters (0.5mmol, 1 equiv.), and corresponding HBpin (1.0mmol, 2 equiv.) were placed in a 25mL Schlenk flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar inside the glove box. Then the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for six hours. The progress of the reaction was monitored by 1H NMR, based on the internal standard, HMB (10mol%). In all cases, yields were calculated based on isolated yields.
