70.2 Step 2: imidazo[l,2-a]pyridin-8-ol
To a solution of 8-benzyloxyimidazo[l,2-a]pyridine (0.9 g, 4.0 mmol) in EtOH (20 mL) was added Pd/C (0.2 g, 10% purity) under N2 atmosphere. The suspension was degassed in vacuum and purged with H2 for 3 times. The mixture was stirred under H2 (50 Psi) at 25 °C for 16 hrs. The reaction mixture was filtered through a pad of celite to remove Pd/C. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuum to afford the title compound (0.5 g, 93% yield) as a white solid, which was used in the next step without purification. LCMS: m/z 135.2 [M+H]+.
